When Voomerang, a new social-impact digital sweepstakes platform, came to Sharp to help them launch their first campaign, we knew we’d need to get creative to generate media attention.
Tapping into the star power of Voomerang’s co-founders, four-time Super Bowl champ Rob Gronkowski and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Camille Kostek, we developed a segment concept called “The Ice Bath Challenge” in which the couple submerges themselves in ice-cold water on live TV to raise money for charity and bring awareness to the online platform. The Sharp team’s creativity and media relationships helped us secure an incredible 2-minute placement on “Good Morning America,” which resulted in $20,000 awarded to Camille’s charity of choice - The Peter Frates Family Foundation - and an invaluable amount of awareness to Voomerang.
The “Good Morning America” segment alone captured the attention of more than 2.5 million broadcast viewers and nearly 34.5 million online readers. Following the initial launch, we sustained momentum by securing placements in media including Forbes, Fox News, PEOPLE, OK! Magazine, and more. Our efforts generated over 1 billion impressions for Voomerang’s inaugural campaigns.
