Dale Chihuly is no obscure name in the realm of arts and culture. Throughout his over five decades-long career, the artist’s bold glass works have been featured in hundreds of museum collections, historic sites, fine art institutions and gardens—solidifying his icon status.
Although he is best known for works of glass art, Chihuly also has a strong tie to architecture and design which spans back to his days as a student. To further expand Chihuly’s audience and share his passion for design in a new way, Sharp targeted a new key demographic for our client Chihuly Studio: architects and interior designers.
Leveraging Sharp’s strong relationships with and knowledge of homes & design media, the team identified and secured prime interview opportunities to put Chihuly’s work front and center for interior designers. Sharp worked with Design Milk’s Kelly Beall and Business of Home’s Caroline Biggs to secure editorial coverage of Chihuly tied not to a new exhibition or installation, but to the artist’s personal insights and design background.
- Design Milk’s Friday Five Column, which features talented designers, artists and shop owners of interest to the design community, spotlighted Dale Chihuly in their first edition of the new year. Design Milk, “F5: Dale Chihuly Shares His Favorite Architect + Beloved Collections”
- Business of Home, the voice of authority for interior design professionals, featured Dale in its Meet the Makers column, underscoring the artist’s passions for color, materiality, and collecting. Business of Home, “Dale Chihuly prioritizes impact over practicality”
