The Edes Building, one of the latest projects from Sharp client KTGY, a national design firm, is a standout example of multidisciplinary collaboration. The building, which houses Cura Contemporary Art Gallery and Véra Wine Bar, encompasses work from KTGY’s three studios: Architecture, Interior Design, and Branding.
The design counters the idea of a traditional “white box” gallery through the use of warm, organic mass timber and subtractive volume design techniques to immerse guests within the space and enhance the art with movement and natural light. Designed to be a work of art itself, the Edes Building features architectural elements that create a striking, sculpture-like exterior and a multi-dimensional natural interior. Driven by the brand narrative, “the joy of expression,” KTGY’s branding team leveraged bold color and negative space to reflect and complement the contemporary art on display, and create an inclusive, inviting space that feels alive.

The architectural feat deserved a major PR campaign – and Sharp delivered. Our team developed a comprehensive media plan leveraging exclusivity, interviews with top KTGY principals, and stunning visual assets to generate top tier national coverage, which included:
- An EXCLUSIVE digital project reveal in Architectural Record: KTGY’s Edes Building Bridges Culture, Community, and Hospitality in a Small Silicon Valley Town
- Print AND digital coverage within Interior Design: Industrial Chic: This Sculptural Building Marries Art And Wine
- A facades-focused feature in The Architect’s Newspaper: KTGY wraps a California art gallery in charred Douglas fir
What’s more, we produced top tier regional coverage. Our favorite:
- Luxe Interiors & Design San Francisco: State of the Art: Cura Contemporary
Altogether, Sharp’s full PR campaign for Edes – which generated 8 unique stories, yielding 1.12 million impressions – was, itself, a work of art.
